HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Have you heard that a lot this time of year?  We try to make it a point to return that particular sentiment with MERRY CHRISTMAS.  Most folks appreciate that response and we've even had an opportunity to share the gospel as a direct result of NOT being "politically correct".  Praise God for His son.

Our Fall/Winter season have been very busy.

October was filled with lots of club visits and our annual Awana conference.  Rick rec'vd a phone call yesterday from someone saying what a blessing the day was.  That was a real encouragement.

November found us in Chicago for almost a week.  Rick was very blessed to share some personal time with Art Rorheim.  As co-founder of Awana, Mr. Rorheim has "seen it all"!  At 90 years young, his heart is to reach boys & girls, moms & dads with the gospel of Christ.

Commander College was also in November. We were very leery of the time and date, but God blessed and the commanders went home better equipped to serve in their local programs.  One pastor called and shared that he had been  convicted about sharing the gospel clearly during large group time.  After making that their first priority, 14 clubbers responded to the invitation & received Christ as their Savior!  AMEN!

Our home church's Sparky club had lots of fun last week.  We "adopted" jr. high teens!  Each young teen was assigned to work with a leader in their handbook group and on the game floor.  They jumped in and helped explain verses, listened to clubbers recite what was prepared and had loads of fun on the game floor too.  (They were really funny helping the Sparkies "decorate" their leaders as Christmas trees!!)  I highly recommend getting your youth group involved.

We hope you will be able to spend time with those you love during this Christmas season.  As we look towards the New Year, our prayer is that leaders will renew their vision to reach children & parents with the gospel of Christ.

We would love to visit your Awana club.  Pick up the phone & give us a call.

                                                                   Keep looking up,
                                                                   Connie
