2009 Racing Specifications

1. Cars will race by club and be judged for both design & speed.

2. All cars must be made from a new block of wood purchased during this Awana year.

3. No car may race that has competed in a local church race in prior club years.

4. Wheels & axles must be purchased from Awana & must be easily recognized as such.

5. Cars shall not exceed: 7" length, 2 3/4" width, 3 ½" height.

6. Cars must have at least 3/8" clearance between the track and the bottom of the car body

7. Cars must be able to sit behind the starting pin with no part of the car extending past the pin

(5/8" max clearance between center of car's nose & the track to avoid “riding up” on the pin.

8. Weight of the car and all accessories shall not exceed 5 ounces.

9. All weights must be stationary and securely fastened to the car.

10. Any additions to the block of wood must be built securely into the car.

11. Bearings, bushings, washers are forbidden. The car’s painted surface may contact the wheels.

12. New - Wheel tread must be factory width. It must be the original width from Awana.

13. Starting devises are prohibited.

14. Cars must pass final inspection for all categories before they will be officially registered.

15. Drivers must be members of the club & are encouraged to wear uniforms.

A church may enter:

       3 - girls in 3rd - 4th grade;

       3 - girls in 5th - 6th grade

       3 - boys in 3rd - 4th grade;

       3 - boys in 5th - 6th grade

       3 - Combined ... Trek & Leaders

Spectator admission .... $ 2/adult $ 1/school-age child (racers admitted free!)
